Ingredients

- 2–3 tbsp olive oil (or vegetable oil)
- 1 pound beef stew meat
- 1 tsp season salt
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp white pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup onion diced
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1.5 cups beef broth
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp corn starch
Instructions
- Place stew meat in a bowl.
- Season with salt, pepper, white pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and season salt.
- Mix well until the meat is fully coated.
- Add ½ cup of all-purpose flour to the seasoned meat.
- Toss to coat the meat evenly.
- Heat 2-3 tbsp of oil in a Dutch oven over high heat.
- Once hot, add the beef and sear on all sides.
- Reduce the heat to medium to avoid burning.
- Remove the seared meat from the Dutch oven.
- Add diced onions to the pot and sauté until translucent.
- Use a wooden spoon to scrape off the brown bits from the bottom of the pot.
- Pour Worcestershire sauce into the pot and mix with the onions.
- Mix the beef broth with the water/cornstarch mixture.
- Add the mixture to the Dutch oven, stirring to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring frequently.
- Once boiling, reduce heat to a simmer, cover, and let it cook for one hour.
- Stir every 8-10 minutes to ensure even cooking and prevent sticking.

Cornstarch Option:
- If unable to stir frequently, omit cornstarch initially.
- In the last 10 minutes, bring to a boil and add a slurry (1/3 cup water + 1 tbsp cornstarch) to thicken the gravy.
- Stir frequently during this process to prevent sticking.
