WW Assessment Test. Which Plan is the Best for You? (With printable questionnaire)

We heard before the release of the new plans that there was going to be an assessment that would guide you to which plan is best for you. However, if you are a current or former member of WW, you don't get to take that assessment. This has been frustrating to many members and that frustration can be seen across the net in various WW groups.

“Healthi formerly iTrackbites is an alternative to Weight Watchers. “

WW Assessment Test

If you want to do Weight Watchers, but find it's too costly, check out Healthi formally iTrackbites!

  • cost: Healthi formerly iTrackBites costs $36 for the year (using this link for 40% off makes it $36 – use COACH_SMILEY to save!!), WW is $20+ for the month, and it's the same formula and less options
  • choices: I can choose PointsPlus, Freestyle, or any other plan I want with Healthi formerly iTrackBites. Even with the new WW changes, they only offer 3 plan options (not PointsPlus).
  • logs: You can export your tracker data by the week, month, or quarter with Healthi formerly iTrackBites. WW does not give you access to quarterly data.
  • accuracy: I've found inaccurate info in the WW app due to members submitting and not paying attention to the right numbers. With Healthi formerly iTrackBites, I know if I see the green check, it's been verified as accurate. This puts my mind at ease!

Barrett Pastor put together a quick 15 question quiz that will help you pick where to start. Note: this is not an official WW quiz this quiz; it was put together and tested by Barrett Pastor a long-time WW member, Youtuber, and a great friend. Don't worry if you pick a plan that doesn't seem to be working for you, you can switch to one of the other plans in the app with just 3 clicks. Easy Peasy.

Barrett Pastor

Why would you listen to Barrett Pastor? Why do I listen to her? Barrett has been doing WW for over 2 years now and has lost an amazing 40 pounds and only has 10 more to get to her goal. It is a lifestyle for her, as it is for many of us. She talks about WW in her household daily, as we all do. I do the cooking in my household and Barrett does the cooking in hers. For those of us who are the “cooks”, it is important to know which plan is best for our weight loss goals.

WW Testing the Test

Barrett has been testing the programs out for 2 months on herself. As you may know, some of the details of the program were leaked early. She started trying them out and has come up with a 15 question quiz to help you determine which program will work for you. We don't recommend anything we don't try out for ourselves. From kitchen equipment to this test, we try everything out first to save you time and sometimes money 🙂

Does the Assessment Test Work?

She gave the quiz to family and friends to check to see how well it worked. The result – everyone she gave the test to said that yes, that is the plan they would choose. Barrett even gave the test to non-WW members to see how they would answer and the results were astounding. Everyone picked the plan that corresponded with what they came up with during the test.

Add up your answers. Were you about even? Did you get a lot of 1's? Or were 2's more you? Let's see what this means. 🙂

If you picked mostly 1's you are like me and Go Green:)
If you picked mostly 2's that is Freestyle or the Blue program 🙂

  1. Hi I did the assessment and I have equal number on each plans. I have 5 A’s 5B’s 5C’s. What that means? I can be in either one? 😉

    1. You are a great candidate for WW and you will do well:) Make sure you pay attention to your body and how you feel while doing the plan. Your body will tell you which plan is best 🙂

    2. Same here. Guess I could choose any plan. I hated freestyle so I think I’ll go with green which seems like the plan before freestyle.

    1. Let me know your journey and how you are doing. Is purple working for you or are you switching to another plan?

  2. Mine is close between green and blue. There were a couple questions that could got 2 different. The first way I did it was with alot of back and forth but edged out green. If I chose the other answer it edged out blue. I lost 1 pound first week on purple. gonna give it a couple more weeks

  3. I had success with ww freestyle and lost 60 lbs. I went off it to see if I could maintain the loss myself and in six months, stayed with in 5lbs. Tried Ww again for another 6 months and lost maybe 5 lbs. switched to keto and love it but haven’t lost or gained. Thinking of starting back with WW; which new plan closely follows the no sugar, very low carb, healthy fats style of eating? Tried the assessment but it wasn’t helpful. Thank you.

    1. In my opinion, WW is low-fat but not low carb. They calculate the carbs when assigning point values to different foods. In your situation, I would use iTrackBites Keeping it, Keto. For WW I would go green as that as the fewest zero point food options. Let me know what you decide to do 🙂 Here is a link to my iTrackBites post. https://smileyspoints.com/how-does-itrackbites-work/

  4. I’m not sure why there is a need to translate numbers to letters AB&C. I just added the number of 1s, 2s, and 3s. I got 4 1s, 9 2s, and 2 3s so am strongly a Blue (2s). This is a great assessment, I will look on YouTube for Barrett.

    1. Blue is the same as the freestyle plan. That is the plan from before. Purple is like Freestyle Plus. On Purple, you get more free foods. I hope this helps.

    1. The Mediterranean diet can be done alongside the new myWW eight loss plans. All three plans can be tailored to work with a Mediterranean lifestyle. You may have heard that the Mediterranean diet is one of the healthiest ways to eat—but most people aren’t exactly sure what it entails. Here is an exert from the myWW website that may clear things up a bit 🙂
      What’s on the menu?
Lots of vegetables, tubers, fruits, nuts and seeds, legumes, whole grains, fish and seafood, meat and poultry, eggs, dairy, herbs and spices, and healthy fats; limited natural sugars; and water, tea, coffee, and red wine for beverages.
      Like the sound of that?
That’s because, like WW, the Mediterranean diet is a lifestyle, not a “diet.” WW uses the latest in nutritional and behavioural science to guide you toward smarter food choices like these, so you can feel your best and build healthy habits that last. I hope this helps you 🙂

    1. This is not the official assessment created by myWW. This assessment was created by Barret Pastor and has been fairly accurate. It is not perfect but it will get you started in the right direction. To get the ofiicial assessment you have to be a new member and sign up for myWW.

  5. I got 9 threes, 4 ones and 4 twos. Obviously, I’m a 3, carb addict, but am afraid I will overeat. What to do, what to do???

    1. I too am a carboholic 🙂 I use the Weight Watchers green plan as that has been what has worked the best for me. I also watch the zero point foods I eat. I created a list of the zero point foods with protein and calorie info. I must watch the carbs I eat so that I can continue to lose weight. I would suggest buying a journal and keeping track. This is the only way I can look back and see what I was eating when I have a great week vs a not so great week. Here are the links to journals and to the zero point lists for you. I hope this helps.

    1. Green or Blue I would go Blue first as most of my readers have had the best success on the Blue plan which is the freestyle plan. I hope this helps. Track your progress for 2-3 months and then if it isn’t working try green. Make sure you give the plan time to work and make sure you are working the plan. I hope this helps. Let me know if I can help you in any way.

  6. I came up with mostly 1’s which puts me on green plan. But I’ve been using purple for 2 weeks and it’s working. Guess if purple slows down I’ll switch to green. Good test

  7. Hello, thank you for taking the time to make this test. I got 6-2’s..7-1’s..and 2-3’s. Which plan would be best for me. The Green or the Blue? I was thinking because I got more ones maybe I should go green, but I wasn’t w. Can I switch colors if one doesn’t work?

  8. I got 6 -1’s, 1-2 and 8 3’s. I’ve been on iTrackBites blue but wasn’t shedding weight. I just rejoined WW to see the new plans. I’m getting close to my lifetime goal after a regain. I used to love meat but I’m going back towards vegetarian/Mediterranean.
